NAAW -2008 Gallery

National Addictions Awareness Week kicked off on November 17, 2008 in the Seabird Island Community. 
A mock-car crash was staged - which showed the dire consequences of drinking and driving, as well as video presentations. 

STC General Assembly - November 14, 2008 - Seabird Island

The Sto:lō Tribal Council General Assembly was held on November 14, 2008 at the Seabird Island Gymnasium.  Grand Chief Clarence Pennier chaired the Assembly.  The Assembly was well attended - with approximately 150 in attendance. Local businesses set-up tables to show their wares and the Shxw'ow'hamel First Nation held a silent auction.  Sto:lō Tribal Council Tribal Chiefs gave brief over-views of their activities over the past year.
Grand Chief Ron John, Chawathil has graciously agreed to host next year's Assembly, which is taking place on Friday, November 13, 2009.
